Scott & Sheila hit San Fran

Hi from San Francisco! Scott and Sheila headed out here for a "mommy daddy" vacation while Sterling and Stone are having lots of fun back home with Miss Dee, Grammie and Papa (thank you all for helping us do this!). We thought that Sterling and Stone (and friends) might like to see what we're up to.

Our flights went well yesterday although the first delay made us RUN through the Atlanta airport to catch the next plane to San Francisco. We ended up being lucky and Chris was on the plane with us! We all made it to our connecting flight - although no time for the potty or food. ;-) Apparantly our luggage wasn't so lucky so we spent yesterday and our fancy dinner out last night with three other couples in our sweat suits that we had worn for travel. :-( Still had a nice dinner and lots of fun catching up though. :-) (BTW - our bags did just get to our room this morning so we can finally take a shower and put on clean clothes!)

After we arrived yesterday we met up with Jade and Lou and we checked into the hotel and started walking around the city. First Union Square which was lots of shopping (too pricey for us!). Then we walked and cabbed down to Pier 39...

We got to look out across San Francisco Bay at Alcatraz...(we'll be heading there later today for a tour!!)...

While there we got to see the famous seals and sea lions that were basking in the sun...they were "talking" so loud it was funny to watch and listen to them....

Last night we met up with Troy and Pete & Ellen and went out to a nice Thai dinner. Yummy. :-) Then we got a MUCH needed night's sleep!

We're off to walk the three mile (each way) walk over the golden gate bridge! We'll post more pictures tomorrow.

Sterling and Stone - Mommy and Daddy love you and miss you bunches! We're blowing lots of hugs and kisses your way. AND we'll be picking up lots of fun gifts for you to show you about our trip. Be good for your teachers and we will be home soon. We love you!

Amanda & Gary's Wedding

All of the wedding festivities were beautiful and lots of fun. Pictures didn't come out very well in the church - so we have pictures of before and after to share (just a few hightlights!)...

Monday (6/11) we were lucky enough to tour the Esther Price Chocolate Factory.

Tuesday (6/12) - We spent a fun filled day at King's Island amusement park with cousins Amanda and Andrew. Here we are at the end of a long but thrill filled day!

Wednesday - we started off at the Cincinnati Zoo...

And ended the day at a Cincinnati Reds Baseball Game...

Thursday was R&R and meeting the rest of the Hensley family at happy hour at

the Embassy Suites to kick off Amanda and Gary's wedding festivities...

Friday Scott, Sterling and Stone went to the zoo with Uncle Chuck, Will & Jon while Sheila went to Amanda's bridal luncheon. That evening the cousins practiced at rehearsal and then we all enjoyed the rehearsal dinner...

Off on our adventure...

No pictures today (yet) but wanted to let everyone know that we are off on our week long adventure. Yesterday we left Raleigh to come to West Virginia. We're staying at Nina & GPs house and enjoying some R&R in the pool. Also making visits to Mamaw Evelyn, Mimi, Mamaw Pip, Aunt Glenna and the rest of the family. Nina and GP are having a big cookout today to celebrate Mamaw Pips birthday so we'll get to enjoy some time with the entire family! :-)

Tomorrow morning we'll be packing up and heading to Cincinnati to stay with Cousin Amanda and Gary. Here's our plans for the week...

Tuesday - Kings Island Amusement Park
Wednesday - Reds Game
Thursday - Zoo?
Friday - Zoo/Aquarium? Rehearsal Dinner
Saturday - Amanda & Gary's big day!!
Sunday - long drive home to Raleigh!

First for each Hensley boy!

We are so excited to let everyone know about two big firsts that happened for our boys this week!

On Tuesday Stone started walking! He had taken a few steps here and there in prior weeks - but he just got up and started walking across the living room after his big brother! If he wants to get somewhere quick he'll still drop and crawl - but he's jumping to his feet more and more and when he does - watch out! :-)

On Tuesday Sterling had his first ever basketball practice! He has signed up for a short term basketball "intro" with Raleigh Parks & Recreation along with one of his buddies from school (Will Carpenter). He's already quite the dribbler and thoroughly enjoyed listening to his coach. Watch out sports world - there's another Hensley on the court! :-)
